New AdvoCare Product – V100 Tropical Chews

AdvoCare has come out with another new item in their Well product line.  The newest addition is a vitamin chew.  The chews provide 16 essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients in a great topical flavor.

This is a great choice for children as young as 4 years of age.  It is also a great choice for those that find it difficult to swallow tablets or capsules.  It is also Informed Choice certified making the product clear from banned substances for athletes.

It is not recommended to the V100 Tropical Chew along with CorPlex or the MNS Max protducts.

AdvoCare seems to continue to push for new and better products.  This is a good sign that the company is progressive in their research and product development.

Knee Felt Good With Jog

It was a beautiful morning for an early jog.  What really made it great was the fact that my knee was not sore during my jog.  It is not 100%; however the fact that is feels so much better is encouraging, especially with my jogging the last two days.

I took my MNS Max supplements this morning and my ThermoPlus.  I am still hoping to lose 10 pounds the next couple of weeks by exercising and taking the supplements while eating healthy meals.

Jogging After a Four Week Layoff

I made it home for my long weekend last night!  It is great to be back home with my wife.  It was great to be outside today, as the weather was wonderful and is expected to be just as pretty the rest of the weekend.

I was disappointed when I did not reached my goals with the Lean in 13; however, I contribute that to my work schedule and my location when I am out of town.   This does not mean the program or the products by AdvoCare do not work.  I know what the products can do.  I continue to take the MNS Max and drink my Spark as well.  What about the exercise and jogging?

I actually did something to my right knee the first week I started the weight training.  I strained it when I was doing something as simple as lunges.  It is not bad, but it is still a little sore even after 4 weeks.  That is one reason I did not exercise or jog like I intended during the Lean in 13.  Today I challenged the knee.

I went jogging this afternoon after a four week layoff and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I actually did better than I thought I would with the layoff.  My knee was a little sore and I started to quit jogging and just walk.  I decided that I was going to push through it and that is exactly what I did.  I felt great and I pray that I will get back into the habit of jogging.   I then hope to start my weight training and make it part of my regular routine.

My goal is still to lose 10 pounds and achieve a smaller waist line.  I have to eat smart, which means eating healthy with the right portion size.   The healthy eating habits and my exercise plan along with the products by AdvoCare, I should get there soon.  The Lean in 13 did not work for me at this time, but I hope to try it again if my schedule changes making it more conducive to a favorable outcome.

Completion of Lean In 13

I finished the Lean In 13, at least ended the time allotted for the program.  I really failed with the program.  I want to be honest and say I did not lose any weight and I did not lose any inches in my waist either.  The question is why?

I have several possible reasons for my failure.  One is the work schedule I had.  I worked evenings and worked out of town most of the time.  I had a plan for it, but found it was too difficult to follow.

Second, I did not exercise like I planned.  Much of that had to do with me working out of town most of the time.   I tried to jog, but it was just too dangerous for me to do it when out of town.

Third, I really failed in my weight lifting.  I tried to haul my weights back and forth and that was just crazy.  I hardly made a real attempt to working out with weights.

Fourth, I was just not motivated enough.  I was not disciplined like I needed to be successful with the program.  That is what I believe was the bottom line to my entire failure to reach my goals with the Lean In 13.

The products are probably what kept me from going in the other direction.  I know I did not take the Catalyst and ThermoPlus all the time and that was due to my work schedule.  However, I took the MNS MAX every day and drank my Spark.  That alone helped me to maintain my weight and not gain any.  I also stayed close to my meal plan except for one weekend.

I just wanted to give you the truth as to what I did on the Lean In 13.  I did not work for me and I believe it was due to my lack of discipline and my work schedule.  I probably could have worked around my work schedule if I were more disciplined.   I was dead in the water without the motivation and discipline.  I hope this will be of some use for other.  I will not give up on it; I just will wait until when my work schedule changes.  Maybe by then I will be more motivated as well.

Day 10 of Lean in 13

I had a good day today, my day 10 of Lean in 13.  I took my supplements and had salmon for lunch and a meal replacement bar for dinner while at work.  However, I have a confession.

My weekend was not so good.  I did not exercise and I did not stay on my meal plan at all.  I just did not stay on it, I totally slaughtered it!  I did manage to take my supplements the way they are recommended.

I am not losing any weight like I hoped, but I am not gaining it either.  I still have three days and I hope to get to the half my goal before it is all over.  I also have not been exercising like I had planned.  I will get back on track and will continue to jog and do my weight training even after the Lean in 13 is over.  I still hope to lose more weight and to get leaner by continuing to exercise, jogging, and eating healthy.  More importantly, I will continue to take the supplements.

The lesson from all this is the fact that even though I did not do well over one weekend does not mean I failed.  It only gives me motivation to work harder.

Day 5 of Lean in 13

Today was my travel day.  I got up at 5:30 this morning to go jogging.  The products I took before I went out for my jog were O2 Gold, Catalyst, Slam, and Muscle Strength.  Once I came in from my jog I took ThermoPlus and the first pack of MNS Max 3.  I had my Meal Replacement Shake 30 minutes later and the 2nd pack of the MNS Max 3.

I left home at 8:30 and headed for my parents house.  I took the 3rd pack of the MNS Max 3 30 minutes before I got there.  I ate lunch with my parents and took the 4th pack of the MNS Max 3.

I got to work at 12:00 and it was chaotic once I got there.  It was that way all through the afternoon.  I did manage to snack mid afternoon.  However, I was late taking my Catalyst and ThermoPlus.  I did not eat my Meal Replacement Bar until 7:00.  This is not an ideal set up for the supplement and meal schedule, however, I made it work.

This gives you an idea of my schedule and what supplements I took throughout the day on my day 5 of Lean in 13, even when it was not perfect.  I may need to explain that working in a retail pharmacy at this time of year and 1st of the month, there is no time to really take a break to eat a meal.  Anything I eat is while working.  Tomorrow will even be more difficult.  I will be working from 8 to 8 tomorrow which will make things even more challenging if it continues to be as busy as it was today.

I will be looking forward to the long weekend!  I will be able to follow my meal and exercise plan more accurately.  I am really enjoying my exercise plan and hoping to continue the plan for a long time to come.

Weight Training on Day 4 of Lean In 13

I worked out this afternoon, which is my day four of my Lean In 13, even though it is not on the plan for today.  I missed a couple of days this week and decided to catch up.  I worked out doing push-ups, dumbbell flies, db flat press, db chicken press, and db hip press for the chest.

I did straight crunches, bicycle crunches, and front plank for the abs.  I did barbell curls and db curls for my biceps.  I worked the triceps by doing skull crushers and kick backs.

I really worked my legs today by doing chair squats, beach ball squats, lunges, and dead lifts.  The beach ball squats is done with a beach ball at your back and against the wall.  You have dumbbells in each hand and you squat with the beach ball rolling along your back to keep you steady and straight.  This was a great workout for the legs.  Scooby on www.scoobysworkshop.com uses a skateboard, but I do not think my wife would appreciate me using a skate board against the sheet rock!

Where I really noticed the difference was working the lats.  Lats is short for latissimus dorsi muscle.  You see why I use the shortened term!   I did barbell rows and dumbbell rows for exercising my lats.  I worked my shoulders by doing alternating db presses, front raises, straight arm side raises, and bent arm raises.

I will be getting up early to do my jogging before I drive out of town to work.  I will not work with weights again until Friday.  I cannot wait!  I feel so much better and seem to have more energy.  I have to continue doing this so I can form a new habit, a healthy habit.

Day 4 of Lean In 13

I started Lean in 13 on Saturday and am now in my fourth day.  The fourth day is a refuel day which means I add fruit to my snack and starches to my lunch and dinner meals.

Today I missed my breakfast and mid-morning snack.  However, I did go walking with some jogging this morning.  I had a sub sandwich for lunch and will most likely do the same tonight.  I will most definitely eat my snack with fruit this afternoon.

The most important thing when doing Lean in 13 or the 24 Day Challenge is that you make sure you take the MNS Max as recommended.  You may miss a meal or exercise, but do not miss the supplements if all possible.

I am not supposed to work out with weights today, but because I missed yesterday and will miss Thursday, I am going to do a pretty good work out today.  It is not as the plan is laid out, but I ate a pretty good meal today and will most likely use it all up.  I really recommend ScoobysWorkshop.com for details on how to work out at home the safe and easy way.  It is also easy on the pocketbook!

I worked out of town Thursday through Monday and my meal plan was right on track even though my exercise plan was a little off the mark.  I am actually staying with my parents while working out of town, which makes it easy for me.  I am still getting home cooked meals!   My Mom still likes to feed her son.  I just had to train her how to plan meals around my Lean in 13.  It has been a good experience for her as well.  I introduced a Salmon dish the other day and both parents loved it.

Yesterday, we had stuffed bell pepper with lean ground beef without the rice.  It was very good.  We also had tomatoes, steamed broccoli, and cucumbers.   We actually had steak Saturday with green beans.   Sunday was the Salmon with a marinade made with soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and olive oil. Yummm!

Today, I am home with my wife.  Tomorrow I will get up early and jog before I head back to my parents and work tomorrow night and Thursday.  Thursday is a 12 hour work day and will not do any exercising on that day.  I will be home with my wife Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!  Yeah!

I have not made any measurements, so I do not know how many inches I have gained or lost.  I do know that so far, I have not lost any weight.  This is no surprise because of the weight training.  I do believe that I am thinner in my waist!  I cannot wait to measure at the end of the Lean in 13!  I know that I do feel better!

I spent some time this morning working with my exercise plan.  I have made some adjustments to fit my work schedule.  This is so I do not have to carry weights back and forth.  I want to make this a new habit and routine so that I can continue a regular exercise and cardio routine for better health and quality of life.

Day 8 of Purfication Phase

I have a recommendation on what not to do if you ever do the cleane.  I got up early this morning and drank Muscle Fuel.  I took Catalyst 15 minutes later and started my weight training 15 minutes after that.  It was a good workout.

I then drank my Meal Replacement Shake right afterwards. I also took my regular handful of vitamins after that.  What happened next was not good!

I then drank my Fiber Drink, the citrus flavored.  This product is my least favorite of all the AdvoCare products.  You probably already know what happened!  I tossed everything up!

Two things, do not drink the Fiber Drink too fast after having taken the stuff I had taken.  I also recommend the Peaches N Creme Fiber Drink, it is not pulpy like the Citrus Flavored.  I hope this will spare someone else the unpleasantries.
